Proposal: OGN Earn on CEX + oBasket LST Product

Hello Origin team,

I’ve been sharing several proposals here, and while I sometimes feel there isn’t enough follow-up or discussion, I still want to contribute positively with ideas that could truly move the needle for OGN and the Origin ecosystem.

Here are two focused proposals that I believe are both impactful and realistic:

:one: OGN Earn on CEX (Direct Utility for the Token) • Launch OGN Simple Earn / Staking products on centralized exchanges (Binance, OKX, Bybit, Kraken, etc.). • This makes the ~49% yield accessible to millions of users without requiring DeFi knowledge. • Impact: Expands demand for OGN, reduces circulating supply, and creates a strong adoption narrative similar to BNB or DOT when they launched CEX Earn programs.

:two: oBasket (New Product – LST Index Basket) • Create a basket token that combines leading LSTs: stETH, rETH, cbETH, OETH/Super OETH. • Investors buy one token (oBasket) instead of managing multiple LST positions manually. • Impact: Differentiates Origin as a leader, appeals to institutions and risk-averse investors, and significantly grows TVL. • All fees from this product could flow back into buybacks, indirectly strengthening OGN.

:glowing_star: Final Note

Both ideas are practical and value-adding: • One supports OGN directly (CEX Earn utility). • The other strengthens Origin’s product suite and TVL growth (oBasket).

I’d love to see more engagement and feedback on ideas like these. Even a short discussion helps keep contributors motivated to keep sharing.

Thanks for reading :folded_hands:

Hey, appreciate your contribution to the forum and to Origin. On your two proposals:

OGN Earn on CEX - We actually have this live on Binance and Nami right now. We spoke with about a dozen T1/T2 exchanges about activating OGN staking there as well, but sadly none of the exchanges actually supported true staking utilizing the Origin staking contracts - they all had what I’d call a sudo-staking staking feature, where projects had to send the exchanges tokens which would then be distributed as staking rewards to users.

oBasket - When it initially launched in 2023, OETH actually was a basket of LSTs (stETH, rETH, frxETH). Unfortunately we ran into some complications with integrating it with other platforms, and the idea was sprung to simplify OETH from a basket LST into a true LST. I don’t think at this point OETH would go back to being a basket, but Origin has managed to integrate OETH and superOETH into other protocol’s baskets, such as bsdETH and dgnETH. OETH and superOETH were both recently incorporated in the new Levva vaults and in all 3 of the Lazy Summer vaults. ABC Labs should be starting their DD soon to onboard OETH to ETH+.
