- Delegate Intro
(Who are you / what is your organization? Where have you participated in governance in the past? Add relevant background info and notable contributions to decentralized governance)
Cal Poly Blockchain is a student-led blockchain organization with growing sectors in investment, development, and consulting. We are a new organization from the previous Cal Poly Blockchain in that the official rebuilding began March 2025. The current president participates in governance with the Blockchain Acceleration Foundation.
- Do you have any core values you stick to when voting?
(Do you vote with any particular mission, vision, or values in mind? What frameworks guide your decisions?)
Cal Poly Blockchain votes with the values of whether the proposal honestly and fully describes all that the topic of the proposal encompasses. This means that we will decide to vote “yes” or “no” on a proposal if we completely understand the entirety of the proposal. If the proposal leaves a lot to the voter’s own interpretation, then we would sooner choose to abstain rather than cast a vote.
- Disclosure/possible conflicts of interest
(Which other protocols are you a delegate for? Where else do you plan to apply as a delegate? Any investments or commitments that could affect your objectivity? Please add a note that you will make appropriate disclosures and recuse yourself from voting when necessary.)
We are in talks to become a delegate with Reserve protocol. Overall however, given how “new” our blockchain club is, governance honestly is not our highest concern when compared to fleshing out other areas of the club such as investment or development. However, given how Cal Poly Blockchain has been growing at an exponential rate, our relationship with Origin will only grow stronger especially as we enter the school year and we gain/develop committed members.
- Delegation statement/closing thoughts
(Any final info you’d like to include and a call to action for others to delegate to you. Ex CTA: If anyone would like to delegate to me, please use the following address: XXXX)
Please think of Cal Poly Blockchain as a rapidly expanding startup. We began rebuilding March 2025 and have exponentially grown our ranks and operations since then. However, as with all startups, we are rather stretched thin in our efforts to develop our other divisions i.e. investment, development, consulting, and governance.
We want those that wish to delegate to us to view us as a long-term investment rather than short-term returns. Cal Poly SLO as an institution is a high-ranking university in both business and STEM with relatively close proximity to San Francisco with the majority of Cal Poly SLO students coming from the Bay Area. With enough time and effort, Cal Poly Blockchain has the potential to produce many members who can contribute to the growing Web3 ecosystem.
In addition, the address provided is the president’s personal address. An address for the club is in the process of being made and will be sent to Peter Gray once created.
